Desolate Domes

As stated in my last entry, this post will be all about the fantasy shoot at Casa Grande Domes I did at the end of March. I was originally contacted about this particular project last year, it was an interesting offer but the client wasn't quite fully prepared just yet. After plenty of conversations, ideas sent back and forth, and planning we set a date and time. Upon arriving at Casa Grande Domes and signing a waiver with the owner, I couldn't help but feel a little uneasy. The location is in the middle of nowhere, hot, littered with safety hazards, and carries an odd ambiance. Normally these wouldn't be ideal conditions, but when it comes to paid work and creating something interesting, anything goes.  The overall theme and idea was created by Aimy Escoto and I helped bring the vision to life with technical, creative photo experience. We talked at length about the style and feel that would be present at each of the 3 different dome sets. At the end of the day we walked away with images that we were both pleased with on many levels. Overall it was a great experience and a big thank you to Aimy for allowing me to help create these. Until next time

All photos in this post taken with Canon 5D Mark III and Canon 16-35mm F/2.8L II, 50mm F/1.8, 70-200mm F/4L USM lenses
